I’ve missed you and Mirabelle hugged me

I’ve missed you!  It has been over a month since my last post and I have been busy working, playing, coaching and getting hugged.  That’s right, hugged.  My 14-month-old daughter Mirabelle HUGGED me last week and it was easily one of the most magical experiences of my life (and I am blessed to have seen considerable magic in my time). Have you ever had a “baby hug” before? HIGHLY recommended. Maybe part of the magic is that she smells like heaven. Or her smile has enough wattage to power Manhattan. In any case, that hug transformed me and made my soul smile.   I had an experience a few weeks ago with a member on my NY Coaching Team that I wanted to share here. It seems like I have considerable airport stories, but I travel alot, so bear with me. I was on a call (at the airport) following an intense training weekend. I was tired and pretty drained. My teammate needed some support and wanted to get complete on a few things. No problem. And as I was sharing some feedback for her (which was solicited), she began reflecting some things about me that had already been addressed earlier in the day. I became extremely pissed off. Frustrated, resigned, silent (a very unusual choice for me). She knew I was upset and wanted to work through it. I just wanted to call my husband and complain about her. I sat with it for several uncomfortable moments. My automatic is to hold onto the upset, making the other person wrong and not expressing in the moment what is really...

Giving and receiving

Happy Post 4th of July, wonderful humans.  I hope this post finds you rested/or and taking some time to relax.  I want to share with you an experience I had last weekend in receiving.  I was with Matt and Mirabelle in CT for the wedding of a really close friend of Matt’s family — in fact, Matt was a groomsman.  Many of the Olins were in attendance, including my in-laws.  We had childcare lined up, but it fell through at the last minute…and because the wedding was super kid-friendly, I decided to take my small friend to the 5PM ceremony and just see how things went.  Things started off pretty well, lots of exploring and putting of things in the mouth.  By 6PM, things were less than gorgeous and I realize that we needed to make our exit.  I returned to the hotel with Mirabelle and put her to bed.  About an hour later, my mother-in-law Sally calls me from the reception to see how I’m doing.  “I’m fine.  Just getting us re-packed, actually going to try and do some work.” To which she replied, “What if I came and stayed with the baby while you go enjoy yourself at the wedding?”  “No Sally, I wouldn’t feel right about it.”  We go back and forth, and I tell her I’ll call her back.  So I start mulling the whole thing over.  Tossing around excitement and guilt like volleyballs in my mind.  And I ask myself, what would the breakthrough for you be here?  To actually accept and receive this beautiful, generous gesture with joy?  What would that make possible for me?...

To cleanse or not to cleanse…

Today is Sunday — day 3 of a juice cleanse I decided to embark on with my husband.  He has been hot to do a juice cleanse for the past year or so and I haven’t had the desire.  But one of my new personal goals is to have a “clean” diet, so I agreed to join him. What does that even mean…”have a clean diet”?  Well, about 50% of the food I eat comes out of a box or someone else makes it for me.  I would really like to eat food that I can pronounce (check out some of the ingredients on the boxes in your kitchen…if we can’t say it, we probably shouldn’t eat it) and prepare wholesome meals for myself and my family.  There is a great misconception that all the yoga teachers out there are “healthy” (don’t get me wrong, some are).  But I have to admit that I’m really not one of them.  So I took on clean eating as a personal coaching project; something I have not been able to create for myself until this point, despite the fact that I have all the information, and am very well-read and educated on the subject. I just hadn’t quite gotten to the execution phase yet. And what’s been missing from me making healthy eating choices, you ask?  The answer, quite simply, is SUPPORT AND ACCOUNTABILITY (aka coaching). So, back to my cleanse story:  Friday was ok, since we were both working — tired but busy, so it worked out.  Enter Saturday, a day designed to relax and eat.  Without the distractions of work,...

Facebook love and a life in balance

As an entrepreneur, I am encouraged to use Social Media to market my business.  It’s a bit of a sticky one for me because of my love/hate relationship with said medium.  I often times love The Facebook, while I never look at or use The Twitter.  I don’t want to just re-post random quotes or images (not that there’s anything wrong with that), but rather, I want what I share to be meaningful…to me, at very least.  So, I decided to start using FB to acknowledge someone in my life daily. Acknowledgement is a powerful way to bring out the greatness in another human being.  It’s the cousin to gratitude, which is also something I’m a big fan of.  This week on FB there has been considerable Olin love, as so many of them were born or got married around this time — and I am one of them, after all.   Is there someone in your life that could use some acknowledgement?  Have you acknowledged yourself lately?  I encourage you to try it, is a beautiful practice that will raise your vibration, and likely the person you are acknowledging. Drinking the kool-aid

If you receive these newsletters or know me personally, you’ve probably gotten the memo on how hot I am for Life Coaching.  I am nuts-o for it.  Heavily-drinking-the-kool-aid-borderline-obsessed. It was during a call with some of my teammates on Saturday when I realized exactly why I love coaching so much. . .    What coaching has given me is access to my Essence, which can also be described as the Divine, Spirit or God Consciousness.  It helps me to live from the highest and best parts of myself in a more consistent way than I ever have before.  Coaching+yoga+meditation have given me so much in my life.  Courage, vulnerability, clarity, peace and deep connection with others.  It has supported me in creating the life and career I have always wanted.  Where I am excited to get up and go to work.  Where I spend quality time with the people I love and value.  And get paid to do what I was put on this planet to do. I would love to share these powerful and transformative tools.  There is plenty of kool-aid to go around, and I will happily give some to you. Yes, you.  Email me @ saraholincoaching@gmail.com Search for: Categories Love Luscious Mother Group Coaching Motherhood Resources Uncategorized Work/Business Yoga/Health Popular Posts Forgive-ish?
